About us
The Butterfly Children's Hospices in Changsha was founded in Changsha in 2009 by a British couple of pediatric nurses, Ms. Lyn and Mr. Alan. It was officially registered as a private non-enterprise unit with the Changsha Civil Affairs Bureau on November 15, 2011. Currently, it operates and provides children's hospice care services in the Changsha Children's Welfare Home.
" Butterfly Children's Hospices" is the first social service organization in China to provide professional hospice care for critically ill children. The organizational structure and nursing standards of the institution are based on the organizational structure and relevant service standards of British children's care institutions. Since its establishment more than 10 years ago, we have received and served more than 200 severely ill orphaned and disabled children. The youngest is only over 20 days old and the oldest is 17 years old. Among them, more than 100 children have received hospice care and end-of-life care at Butterfly Home. For other children, under the meticulous care of the staff of Butterfly Home, more than 30 children have been adopted, and more than 40 children have improved or stabilized in their conditions and then been transferred to other welfare institutions. Currently, there are still 21 children receiving care at The Butterfly Children's Hospices.
